Recently our office was sent a letter directing payments for Elite products to be sent directly to a bank-controlled P.O. Box. Elite’s inventory has since been sequestered and removed by the same bank that sent us the letter. Additionally, Elite’s phones are being covered by an answering machine. So their products may not be published in future editions of FRAMES and may not be eligible for VSP reimbursement.

Marchon marchon.com, Luxottica luxottica.com & Safilo safilo.com represent almost 50% of the purchases made through our optical buying group. They continue to lead the way due to their broad appeal, consistent quality and frequently attractive price points. They have policies in place which include terms (30-60-90, etc.), exchanges and credits that allow professionals an ease of doing business. They often attract BIG-NAME brands…Lagerfeld from Marchon, Armani from Safilo and DKNY from Luxottica are but three examples.

An interesting fourth-place vendor (in shear $) is Silhouette Eyewear silhouette.com. Their strategy for some time has been to lead the way in fashion…which frequently includes technology (rimless mounts).
